The New ASM Leviasynth: A Hybrid Titan Is Born
The rumors that circulated throughout 2025 have finally solidified into reality. Ashun Sound Machines (ASM), the company that disrupted the synthesizer market with the Hydrasynth, has unveiled its new flagship: the Leviasynth.
If the Hydrasynth was a digital wave-morphing beast, the Leviasynth is a hybrid monster designed to bridge the gap between algorithmic digital precision and warm analog character. Named after the mythical Leviathan, this 16-voice synthesizer is built to dominate the studio and the stage.
Overview
The Leviasynth represents a “reimagined” approach to FM synthesis, or rather, “Algorithmic Synthesis” as ASM prefers to call it. It features a massive 16-voice polyphony with a staggering 8 oscillators per voice. Unlike its predecessor, the Leviasynth is a true hybrid, feeding its digital oscillators through a dual filter path that includes a 4-pole analog lowpass filter.
The interface has also received a significant upgrade. While it retains the rugged steel chassis and “Master Control” workflow of the Hydrasynth, it now centers around a new 4.3″ color touchscreen, making deep editing of the 32-point modulation matrix and 8-operator algorithms far more intuitive.

Key Features
- Hybrid Engine: 16-voice polyphony with 8 oscillators per voice.
- Algorithmic Synthesis: A modern take on FM with over 140 preset algorithms and the ability to craft custom ones.
- Dual Filter Architecture:
- Digital: 18 filter models (borrowed and expanded from the Hydrasynth).
- Analog: A dedicated 4-pole (24dB/oct) analog lowpass filter for pure voltage-controlled warmth.
- PolyTouch Keybed: 61-note keyboard (or 16 pads on the desktop) with ASM’s signature Polyphonic Aftertouch.
- Multi-Mode: Bi-timbral capability allowing you to split the 16 voices into two 8-voice layers (Upper/Lower).
- Modulation: 13 Envelopes, 5 LFOs, and a massive 32-point Modulation Matrix.
- Connectivity: CV/Gate (2-in, 5-out), MIDI In/Out/Thru, USB-B, and stereo 1/4″ outputs.
