Drummertime by Tubbutec
The Tubbutec Drummertime is a TR-x0x-inspired step sequencer designed for drum programming in Eurorack systems. It is built for live performance, featuring large tactile buttons for fast, hands-on editing of patterns.
It supports both analog trigger/gate outputs and MIDI connectivity, allowing integration with modular drum voices, classic drum machines, and modern MIDI instruments.
Drummertime is available in two physical formats:

a single 1U/74 HP version or a two-module version (1U 60 HP + 3U 4 HP) for flexible rack setups.

Key Features
- 8 Instruments (Channels): Step-based drum sequencing inspired by classic TR-x0x machines.
- Analog + MIDI Compatibility: Works with modular trigger/gate signals and full MIDI systems.
- Pattern and Song Mode: 16 patterns; chain up to 32 in song mode.
- Flexible Play Directions: Forward, backward, ping-pong, and “smart random.”
- Live Performance Tools: Mute instruments in real time without editing the pattern.
- Step Probability Control: Introduce variation and randomness per step.
- Swing Adjustment: Second-step delay from 1/32 to 16/32 for flexible groove control.
- Flam/Ratchet Effects: Create tuplets and subdivisions (e.g., triplets, quintuplets).
- Recording Methods: Record via button tapping or MIDI input; steps can be cleared while running.
- Custom Step Length: Adjustable “Last Step” for independent pattern lengths.
- Edit Utilities: Copy, paste, and clear patterns or tracks in song mode.
- Comprehensive I/O:
- 8 trigger outputs (adjustable pulse length)
- MIDI In/Out
- Analog or MIDI clock input
- Adjustable clock divider and built-in clock generator with tap tempo
- Module Chaining: Up to 4 Drummertime or 6equencer units linked (64-step patterns or 32 instruments).
- Configurable Settings: MIDI channels, trigger/gate lengths, accent timing, clock mode, swing amount, LED brightness, and more.
- Two Button Types: Available with either “tactile” soft buttons or “clicky” mechanical buttons.

Performance Features
![]() | There are multiple play directions which can be selected including a musically usable random mode. The play direction can be changed for patterns and for songs independently. Changing the direction will not cause it to lose sync. |
![]() | The mute mode can be activated for various instruments while the sequencer is playing without modifying patterns. The tap mode can be used to record steps live. The clear mode clears the current steps. |
![]() | Patterns can be copied and pasted allowing for quick programming of variations. |
