First Look: Make Noise Unveils the MultiWAVE 8-Channel Oscillator

Hot on the heels of their new Universal Synthesizer System (N.U.S.S.), Make Noise has just dropped a much-anticipated module: the MultiWAVE. This powerful unit is an 8-channel dual wavetable oscillator designed to be the polyphonic heart of the N.U.S.S. or a formidable sound source in any Eurorack system.

It uses a single, unified set of controls to generate and manipulate audio waveforms across eight independent channels, making complex polyphonic and multichannel patches more intuitive than ever.

LIVE PREMIERE!
We’re excited to announce that we will be featuring the Make Noise MultiWAVE on the Synth Geekery show, live this Saturday, 15th November 2025!

For a few months now, we’ve been anticipating this module’s release – being teased with blurry sections of videos while they showed other modules like the PolyMATHS. Here it is, let’s check out the features …

Overview & Core Features

The MultiWAVE isn’t just one oscillator; it’s sixteen. Each of the eight channels contains two independent wavetable oscillators (Osc A and Osc B) that can be sequenced, blended, and modulated. This architecture is built for generating complex, evolving polyphonic textures from minimal input.

Here’s a breakdown of the key features pulled directly from Make Noise:¹

  • 8-Channel Dual Wavetable Oscillator: A single set of controls commands all eight channels.
  • Flexible Sequencing: Sequence Oscillators A and B independently or together using four different “Follow” modes.
  • Polyphonic Generation: Easily create polyphonic activations from monophonic sequences using Modulation Dissemination, Span modes, Spread, and Accumulate.
  • Deep Timbre Control: Variable timbre per channel, a built-in polyphonic quantizer, and modulatable polyphonic detune and glide.
  • Built-in LFO: Modulate wavetables using the internal MultiMod LFO, with independent depth and shape control per oscillator.
  • Custom Wavetables: Ships with new wavetables developed from classic Make Noise modules (like DPO, STO, and Spectraphon) but is also compatible with the popular WaveEdit format.
  • Voltage-Controllable Span Modes: Activate channels in different ways:
    • Index: Arbitrary order.
    • Round: Sequentially with a variable step count.
    • Parallel: Via variable per-channel clock divisions.
  • N.U.S.S. Integration: Designed for seamless, pre-patched connection with the PoliMATHS and QXG modules to create a fully-fledged 8-channel hybrid Polysynth.
