Here come the Boogerfoogers!

Behringer are slowly releasing their Moogerfooger clones. This article keeps you up-to-date on all the information you need to know. Keep it bookmarked as I’ll update the new products including pictures, videos, pricing and comparisons to the originals.

Table of contents:

Prototypes and original announcement

Back in March 2023 we showed Behringer’s prototypes for a bunch of Moogerfooger clones:

However, there was never a mention of doing the MF-106 Analog Time Compressor – which was never released into production by Moog.

Additionally, Behringer never mentioned the other Moogfooger MF-105 – the MIDI Murf. Until today!

Behringer BM-15M Murf Box

Announcing the new Behringer BM-15M Murf Box. A faithful recreation of the MIDI Murf.

The original Moogerfooger MF-105 MIDI Murf:

At a quick glance, Behringer have reversed the top functions with the bottom. Now, let’s take a look at the back of both:

The behringer has a USB C connector which is additional to the original Moog. The USB C is used to connect to the Guitar Tribe application for control of parameters and firmware update.

AUGUST 2025 UPDATE!

It looks like this release saw some drama! They have removed their video off YouTube:

https://youtu.be/JZySJHFTVxo

After a video published by Starsky Carr comparing the original Moog to the Behringer, and discovered some errors in the EQ section:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-rkO4wTRnFc

I guess they’ll eventually publish a new video once they fix the issue?

Price: MSRP $129 (original MF-105 retailed for $599) – street price ~ $99

🧠 Final Thoughts

The Behringer BM-13 Phaser is a powerful and practical option for musicians seeking the lush, analog phasing effects of the MF-103 without breaking the bank. While some may argue the build quality or prestige of the original Moogerfooger remains unmatched, the BM-13’s sonic versatility and price point are hard to ignore.

For synth heads, guitarists, and modular users alike, this pedal is a solid gateway into the world of vintage phasing—with a modern, budget-conscious twist.

Behringer BM-12

The Behringer BM‑12 is a forthcoming analog ring modulator pedal designed to replicate the iconic Moog Mooger‑Fooger MF‑102 from 1998. It features dual‑waveform LFO, voltage‑controlled carrier oscillator, and full analog ring modulation circuitry. Behringer first released prototype imagery in early 2023, showcasing a nearly identical layout and wooden side panels, though the company had not yet confirmed pricing or a release date at that time .

As of mid‑2025, news sources indicate the BM‑12 was finally available for pre‑order as of July 24, 2025, suggesting availability to commence in the coming weeks or months .

Behringer BM-102 Ring Modulator

Behringer BM-102 Ring Modulator effects pedal

Behringer have announced 2 a second prototype of their Moogerfooger clones. This one is the Ring Modulator. Modelled after the Moog Moogerfooger MF-102 (pictured below) – let’s check out what we can tell with no further information, videos or anything from Behringer.

Moog MoogerFooger MF-102 (my previously owned)

As you can see – they both look similar in functionality with the knobs, switches and screen printing showing the same information. It will be interesting to see what is different inside with the electronics.

Behringer BM-102 rear
Moog Moogerfooger MF-102 rear

Even the rear connections seem to be exactly the same. This news may come as a relief for those who have been riding the pain of the hiking used prices of Mooger Foogers. Although, Behringer haven’t indicated how much they’ll be selling these for yet.

Behringer BM-14M

Authentic recreation of the Moog MF-104M from the ‘2000s. They aren’t using the same BBD chip, but they claim they’re getting the same sound using one of their own. I’m guessing it is a Cool Audio MN3007. Moog had problems producing the original due to the difficulty in sourcing the original BBD chip.

The bypass switch has 2 functions: the first works as you’d expect – bypasses the effect and allows the original source sound through unchanged. However, if you hold the switch down, the LED glows blue and it allows for the effect to process until you switch it off – which gives you a tail-style effect.

Overview & Features

The BM-14M is Behringer’s analog Bucket-Brigade-Device (BBD) delay pedal, designed as an homage to the Moog Moogerfooger MF-104M Super Delay. It offers:

  • Up to 800 ms delay time (some listings say 1.2 s max, likely with alternate mode)
  • Drive control for saturation/character
  • Spillover mode for smooth transition of delay trails on bypass
  • 6-waveform LFO with Rate and Amount controls
  • Tap tempo switch, Effect Bypass, LED indicators
  • Rear-panel CV/expression pedal inputs, Feedback insert, MIDI In
  • Standard 9 V DC power input (not included; battery not supported; ~400 mA draw)
original Moogerfooger MF-104

The MoogerFooger range was discontinued by Moog Music. However, they are still offering a software solution available as either a VST/AU instrument or use it on your iOS device.

Behringer announce more Moogerfooger clones

Further to the announcement of the BM-102 Ring Mod a few weeks ago (see Synth Geekery 194), yeasterday (10th March 2023) – they’ve announced another two via their facebook (links below). They also announced a year ago the prototype of the delay (MF-104) – which they named AD-104. To date, we haven’t seen this emerge. I know that Moog had issues making it because the BBD chip was hard to source.

BM-103 Phaser

At this stage it is just a prototype, but it is modelled/cloned after the MoogerFooger MF-103 12-stage phaser and has identical layouts of knobs, switches and connections. If they do this the same – it will be a great addition as Moog are no longer making it.

BM-101 Low Pass Filter

Again, another prototype, modelled after the Moogerfooger MF-101 low pass filter and has identical layouts of knobs, switches and connections.

Moog recently announced 3 the release of VST versions of the Mooger Fooger FX pedals. I have these and can say that they are good value for money and are a handy tool for your DAW setup. However, if Behringer release the “Boogers” in the low price point – it might be worth considering a hardware purchase again!
